INLAND REVENUE BUILDING, ‘ONE FEATHERSTON’

Recently completed, and with floor plates of a massive 3000m2, this is the largest commercial office building in NZ (to date).
The premium-quality ‘One Featherston’ (located at the start of the central business district) is a 45,000 m2, 15-storey building comprising one level of retail and service spaces, two levels of car parks and 12 levels of office space, providing 33,000 m2 of nett lettable area. It will provide lead tenant Inland Revenue with a single, centralised location for staff currently working in 11 buildings around the city, and is designed to achieve a Five Star Green Star New Zealand Certified Design rating.

Rexel Lighting was engaged to design and supply a customised luminaire, utilising air return chambers along the sides of the body. This allows the 2x 28 watt T5 tubes to operate at optimum ambient temperatures, without return air affecting their performance. A total combination of over 3,800 dimming and non-dimming luminaires was supplied, along with Y5 reeded refractor optics.
The dimming luminaires are controlled by Osram DIM MULTI combination PIR/daylight sensors, giving the ultimate in lighting control.
